A mastopexy, more commonly known as breast lift, is a popular procedure for those wanting to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing breast shape. Breast lifts often restore feminine proportions that are lost as a result of aging, pregnancy, or weight fluctuation.  A breast lift will result in a more youthful, uplifted breast profile.

During a breast lift, the existing breast tissue is reshaped. Excess skin is removed and the surrounding tissue is tightened to provide the breast with a lifted and improved contour. The nipple is often repositioned during a breast lift as well and the areola can be reduced. Check out our photo gallery to see the results of mastopexy.

When considering the procedure, many women wonder how long they can expect their breast lift to last and if there is anything they can do to maximize the life expectancy of their breast lift.

For some, the results can last a long time while others may want or need minor revisions after only a few years. To say how long results last from a typical breast lift surgery is dependent upon many factors such as age, genetics, health and dietary habits, as well as surgical techniques. One should keep in mind, that the breast tissue goes through many changes during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and weight gain and loss.  Therefore, to maximize the results of a breast lift, many opt to seek a breast lift after they have finished having children, stopped breastfeeding, and have achieved their weight goals.

Dr Grasee and Dr Bergman will talk to you about your expectations from your breast lift surgery and the outcomes they have seen in their own practices.  They can help you decide on your personal breast lift plan. Every person is different as are their results.
