Brotox: Botox for Men By Carmel Cosmetic and Plastic Surgeons on June 29, 2021

Men may pretend they don’t care about looking older, but the number of men getting BOTOX® or "BROTOX” to erase forehead creases and other wrinkles suggests otherwise.

BROTOX is simply a man-friendly nickname for BOTOX®.

When injected into facial muscles of the forehead and glabellar region associated with skin wrinkles, BOTOX® blocks the nerve signals that tell the muscle to contract. This reduces the activity of the injected muscle and effectively temporarily paralyzes the muscle leaving a smoother, more youthful appearance to the skin overlying the muscle. Basically, if you can’t furrow your brow as hard, the wrinkles on your forehead and the “elevens” — those vertical frown lines between the eyebrows — will soon begin to fade. Moreover, BOTOX® can also be used to treat crow’s feet.

The only difference between administration of BOTOX® for men and for women is that when men get  BOTOX® injections, typically more BOTOX® is required. Most men have very strong muscle groups in their face, so they need more product than women to achieve the desired appearance. If it isn't already, BOTOX® is sure to become an effective and invaluable weapon in your arsenal against facial aging.  You will start to see aesthetic improvement from your BOTOX® injections after a few days and results can last up to three to four months.

BOTOX® injections at Carmel Cosmetic and Plastic Surgeons is performed by our aesthetician, Kathy Garrison.
