What is Restylane?

Restylane is a cosmetic, dermal filler made of non animal based hyaluronic acid.  Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that is present in the human body and produces volume and fullness to the skin.  Restylane is administered through a series of injections.  The procedure is minimally invasive and topical anesthesia may be used to decrease discomfort.  After treatment, some redness or swelling may last for up to 7 days.  The rejuvenating effects of Restylane typically last up to 6 to 9 months.
