What is Juvederm?
Juvederm is a cosmetic, dermal filler made of non animal based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in human tissue and is of the major components of the connective tissue matrix, along with collagen and elastin. Juvederm is administered through a series of injections. The procedure is minimally invasive and topical anesthesia is may be used to decrease discomfort. After treatment, some redness or swelling may last for up to 7 days. The rejuvenating effects of Juvederm typically last up to 6 months.
