Blepharoplasty
|
Overview If you believe your eyes are making you look tired, sad, or older than you feel, cosmetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) may be the right choice for you. What is Blepharoplasty? Eyelid surgery can remove excess fat and dropping skin of the upper lids, minimize bags under the eyes, and tighten lower lid skin. The result is a more alert and rested appearance. Incisions are made following the eye lids natural lines and creases and will be well hidden when healed. Excess fat is removed. Following surgery, eyelids no longer droop and skin under eyes is smooth and firm. Recovery after surgery can vary and swelling is normal. Initially, it will be recommended to keep your head elevated when resting to minimize edema. Bruising around the eyes will reach its peak in 1 week then begin to fade. Healing may be accompanied by itching, temporary mild blurred vision, tearing, dryness, light sensitivity or itching. Most people are very pleased with their new refreshed and alert appearance. *Note: Eye lid surgery needs to be approached with extra caution if you have thyroid problems, “dry eye” detached retina, glaucoma, HTN, DM.
